The claim I filed for my luggage that CONTINENTAL AIRLINES lost totaled over $4,000. The maximum payout they do is around $1,300.
They sent me a check that totaled $285. This does not even cover the money I have to pay to the baby doppler company to replace the rented unit that was lost in the luggage. Not only did they lose a lifetime worth of my memories. Then they bent me over and made me pay extra for the privilege. Fuckers.
That sucks. You should complain higher up. Send a letter to the CEO. And complain to the media. Send a letter to Joe Sharkey at the Times.

Dude can you say "More, please?" Cuz that is not enough. There has to be something you can do: can you sue them? I hate to say that, but even lawyer letters cost them something and they'd probably rather just give you more $. I hope.

That's terrible, I'm so sorry!

Did you provide them with receipts for the rental and/or replacement? Northwest damaged my stroller and I sent them the receipt for the replacement and got total reimbursement. I know you cannot get back the really important stuff here, but it might be worth fighting for more. In the meantime, don't cash the check...

Oh no they didn't. That is so horrible. I am so sorry!
I already hated Continental for that time they stranded me in DC and didn't pay for a hotel. But NOW.
If you feel up to it, you could complain some more. Or you could try to let it go. Either one sucks. The whole thing sucks!
